Post Funny things happening @ Propellerheads

After several hard staking years of asking Propellerheads to create a way
to be able to record vocals and instruments within Reason.,
On their forum by thousands and thousands of users.

For many years they have said NO...
There exact quote many times was:

Quote:
We are NOT doing it, as this is not what we want to do.
Reason is only a VST device to be used along side of Protools or other DAW's.
Now that Reason users have slowly been drifting away from Reason,
an using Protools more and more.

Propellerheads is starting to realize they are losing their users.
So now they cave in and come out with ( RECORD Software ).

http://www.propellerheads.se/products/record/index.cfm

Millions and millions of people have been asking of this from
Propellerheads for many many years.
And users have been either yelled at or talked down to and told,

Quote:
This is not what we do, and we are not going to do it.
If you want to record, go and use Protools or Cubase or Logic.
Please stop asking as we are not going to do any kind of recording device or
capabilities within Reason, as this is what Reason is NOT intended for.
Reason is a VST instrument that users have been using as a sole production suite.
And it is not. If you want to record use a DAW software and please stop asking.
This is from their own forum, where they posted responding to members.

Now - after many of the Reason users swinging over to Protools, specially when v8 came out.
Now Propellerheads company decides to WAKE UP.
and release a software to work along side of Reason software, or within Reason itself.
to be able to let Reason Users record unlimited instruments and vocals.

They are STILL missing VST compatibilities and usage.

Line-6 is there because they distribute Reason., thats the only reason why
they have their product in place within Record Rack.

ALSO:
Where is TB-303 ?
Anyone remember [REBIRTH] ?

http://rebirthmuseum.com/
Why Propellerheads did not implement the TB-303 of Rebirth into Reason. ?

And what about implementing TR-909 and TR-808 drum machines within Reason. ?
So users don't have to keep sampling, instead just play it righ off the TR-909 Machine within Reason.
And you can tweak until your hearts content on a kick or snare.
Instead of using re-sampled samples.
If they can get permission to use aspects of SSL 9000 K Series for their new flqagship software RECORD.
Why not get permission to use TB-303, TR-909 and TR-808 within Reason and Record softwares. ?

There is so much potential for Reason, but these people keep missing the mark.
Now they are going to FINALLY release a program to record,
But I am doubting their sound engine, but they say RECORD is good.

BUT
Is this up to par.?
Is the recording software recording engine able to record at high studio quality
Like Protools software.?

Reason is well known in Mastering plants as a very bad sound engine,
and poor output quality for mastering.

This is why they came out a few years ago with Mastering Suite,
to try to correct this sound engine problem they are having,
as many users were/are complaining about it for years.

Also, one huge mistake Propellerheads made with ( Record Software )was to make Record a separate software,
instead of a combining the 2.
Now users have to open 2 application softwares in order to use
Reason & Record.

That my friend is a main pain in the arse.

Will this new record software be able to play along with the BIG BOYS in the DAW world.?
we will see in SEPTEMBER 2009.

For me, its WAY TOO LATE:
I already purchased Protools and many expensive plugins for it.
So I will NOT be using RECORD from Propellerheads.

They should of done this move years ago and did not.
its their loss now.
They will get some users to use it,

But I am sticking with Protools,
Higher quality plugins and industry respected and standard.

And MOST OF ALL, superior sound engine & VST usage.

It will be interesting. A couple of points:

1. the 64-bit mix engine should help with the sound - a LOT
2. It's not Reason, so they didn't add recording to Reason, they wrote a new program from the ground up. This is probably good (fresh code).
3. I thought one of the videos mentioned that if you DID have Reason, you'd get all the Reason instruments showing up in Record as VIs. I wonder if that includes the combinator?
4. The reason you can run 60 tracks with EQ & compression on a Mac Book Pro is because they're using their own EQ and compression, not a 3rd party plugin, so the trade-off is efficiency, apparently.

I was wondering what was happening with the Prop heads, as I didn't see any strong features that made me want to upgrade to 4.0 from 3.5. The Reason program just doesn't sound that good to me and I haven't used it for writing in several years now. Back in 2002, it was more state of the art. Maybe this will put them back on the map?

Exacatally! Why do I have to open "2 softwares" in order to use both my 003 console and my Profire 2626?!?
