Another recommendation here. They do whatever you can spec. Perfect handwork quality.

Idk, but my friends that do classical recording seem to really like them. Wish I had the money for a pair. I’d certainly like to try them out.

Cool, thanks. I'll be using headphones mostly for location classical remotes. If I decide to get these ($$$), hopefully they will serve me for a long time.

A little bright? Sounds like being stabbed in the ears with ice picks.

I have never understood the hype behind these cans. Can’t stand them at all. I hear people recommend them for dialogue editing all the time. As someone who spends hours a day doing that, I couldn’t think of anything worse.

The other recommendation comes from location sound recordists. I guess I can understand to a degree the hyped high end being beneficial in certain environments, but still wouldn’t go there personally.

The other thing not overlook is comfort. I’ve recently had to start wearing glasses for up close and am suffering from the cups pressing against the stems of my frames. It annoys me so much that I started investigating in ears but not sold as of yet and don’t intend on buying multiple pairs til I find some I like. The couple of tried so far have been far from neutral. I ended up going back to a pair of on ear headphones, my HD25s. Not the flattest but allow me to work with glasses. Clamp force is a bit much though.

Anyhoo… go and try some out if you can. At least they let you do that with cans. Best thing to do really.

The Audio-Technica ATH-M50X headphones, which were recommended here, should indeed be a good choice! We had them at school, and in my opinion, they were really quite good. You can also replace the pads on them, and they are available separately (in case anything happens).

I use Sennheiser HD380 Pro Headphones and have to wear glasses. I perch the arms of the glasses on top of the ear cups. No pressure then.
