The way the DigiLink license worked for me was; after upgrading to PTHD 12.6 all of the required new licenses were deposited in my iLok account - including the DigiLink license. (I think the licenses were actually deposited before I downloaded PTHD 12.6 since I have an active Support and Upgrade Plan) As part of the process I had to surrender my old 10/11/12 licenses and they were replaced with new 10/11/12 licenses as well as the DigiLink license.

In other words, the DigiLink license was not a download. It was an asset placed in my iLok account. The only thing I downloaded was PTHD 12.6.

The Red 8Line and Red 16Line.

The Red 4Pre and Red 8Pre are now discontinued. But are still great interfaces. I'm holding onto my Red 8Pre as long as I can. It's been nothing but rock solid for me.

With Avid opening up Protools to 256 channels over ASIO, I'm not sure what benefit there is to Digilink and HD hardware any more unless you need time code sync and access to HDX cards and Satellite systems.
