@echopathy. On Mac here, and I've had the same problem for years, ever since I started using MIDI in Pro Tools... Did you every figure it out?? Avid claim that was fixed in 10.3, which is BS...

Just bumped into this bug...

Version 12.4 and still not been fixed. Incredible that Avid has not fixed it yet.

What I do as a workaround is set temporarily the grid to 1/16 and select the part I want to copy etc then switch back to my normal grid... Not ideal but the least painful solution I've found..

Thank you Robsab, I'll have to try this. It does frustrate me though that Pro Tools does such a terrible job with MIDI editing. I've actually been considering switching to Logic.

A simple solution: set the COUNTER to "bars/beats" and 'voilá'. If you need to see the time ruler, select "show subcounter".

Thanks but it's not working for me. The first notes are always missing when I cut or copy the region

One thing to try; if the very first note(s) actually starts slightly ahead of the grid line, use the trimmer tool to trim the start so it is either ON the grid, or slightly behind it(once you copy/paste, you can go back with the trim tool and drag the start of the note(s) a little earlier.

Another thing to try; go into NOTES view(instead of CLIPS view). Midi has always been the "step-child" of PT and although it has gotten better over the years, its still not as good as it should be.
