PT 2024-03.0 Hangs

Just did the upgrade to 2024-03, but it hangs at this point when opening the app. Can't find a plugin with this name in the plugin folder to take it out of the start up sequence....

Loading Plugins: Elastic Audio.aaxplugin (0 of 6)


BTW OS is 14.3.1

A lot of hangs when switching from external to internal renderer. Even creating an object induce a SWOT, and eventually a crash with no message. completely unusable.
tested with zero plugin, PT Prefs 2 to ensure a fresh start, total uninstall and clean install, no change.

os is the latest 14.4, though so I wasn't that surpised as it's not officially validated, but I just rolled back to 23.12.1/sonoma 14.4 and everything works as expected…

does anyone encounter the same kind of problems with the Atmos tab ?

About the plug-ins hangs at load, I would suggest to trash the plug-in cache.
Yes it’s longer the first time, but it has more chance to run smoothly this way, in my experience at least…

So FWIW, I did try logging in as a different user on my computer, but PT hung in exactly the same spot as before. Not sure what to do, but guessing I might need to somehow un-install PT and start over...

So this DOES seem to be a problem. I went thru and got rid of a lot of files and such, re-installed PT, but it still hangs when trying to load the Elastic Audio Plugin.

Multiple similar reports. It isn't Elastic Audio, it's whatever the plugin is after that. Someone else tracked it down to Arcade by Output, but yours might be different. Try removing all plugins and then putting them back in chunks until you find it.

Same here, but Windows 11. Access Violation on startup, every time. Also appears to be happening on the first plugin that loads immediately after Elastic Audio.

I'm attempting to downgrade to 2023.9, but installation fails with error 2753, "the program mmerefresh.exe is not marked for installation."

So, I'm basically dead in the water.

Just posted fix for me on this. I would lock up on Elastic Audio as well, but I think it's because the corrupt file before it triggered the "hang" and it simply stopped on elastic audio.

For me, it is "VoiceChanger.aax plugin"

Go to Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio
Go into Plug-ins
Remove VoiceChanger.aax if you have it.

Reboot.

If you don't have this plugin, quit PT, drag plugins folder to desk top and reboot PT. Load plugins from desktop plugins folder in small chunks from desktop into newly generated plugins folder in AVID/audio. boot PT each time to see if any of the newly moved plugins hang load.

I went through this whole process and the above plugin was my issue.
