Default iLok problem, please help

I had previously installed ProTools 9 on my laptop last year along with the iLock and everything worked fine, I never got any use out of protools as my laptop couldnt handle it then eventually my laptop broke, so now i just got a computer for my christmas and i have installed protools again and when everything was going great all i had to do was plug in my iLock USB to my tower and that would be me, but no, everytime i keep trying to open protools it comes up with this:
''Error, missing iLock authorization for ''ProTools MP 9'' Please Insert the necessary iLock to continue.''
This is the same iLock that was used on my laptop so why is this not recognising it? Also i am running this on windows 8 now as this is what my computer came with.
Help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi

Welcome to the Forum

You need to download the ilok ILM manager from here

www.ilok.com

Download the correct installer depending on your PC/MAC and if it is 64 bit which it should be if you got it this year
Install and restart. Plugin ilok and you should be good to go

Post back when you tried this if you still have problems

Thanks very much for your reply, i have a feeling this would work but when i go to download the iLock manager and i go to open the zip file it keeps saying:
''The compressed zip file is invalid''
Any ideas?

Did you download the correct ILM.

What OS do you have and did you try a other zip utility like 7zip or likes?

Yeah I tried 7zip as well and it was just giving me error messages and not opening, I am downloading the correct ILM as my computer is a 64 bit. What I did notice was that when I pressed it to download and it shows you how long until the download is complete it says its 57.8 MB but then it downloads it within 3 seconds as if it is skipping bits or not downloading properly? I tried Chrome and Internet Explorer and I am just getting the same result, so far Windows 8 has been a complete joke. Do you think this is maybe just an error with the download? The error messages say the zip is empty but its hardly going to be empty as its coming from the official iLok site?

Sounds like you might have a cached incomplete download.

Try right-click on the link:
http://installers.ilok.com/iloklicen...allerWin64.zip

...and choose "Save Link As..."

Then save the file (LicenseSupportInstallerWin64.zip) to a different location, like a separate internal or external hard drive or storage device.
