Default one thing after another

Can anyone help me? It seems to be one thing after another with pro tools and error messages.
I am using pro tools mix plus with an apple g4 800 OS9 1 888/24 CONVERTOR AND PRO CONTROL. For some reason latley I keep getting 6024 errors describing that the PCI Bus is too busy to comunicate reliably with the DAE. I am not using 2 monitors, I am nOT USING A scissi and i think i am not using duel procerrors. I have been to the place i bought it and put my cards in a differant MAC, TRIED EVEN TAKING my hard drives and putting them into a differant mac, reinstalled the software, trashed the prefs, putting my cards into differant pci slots, everything but still the same problem. Does anyone know what is wrong?

What kind of drives are you using and how are they hooked up? Are you using a SCSI card?

If you actually are using the Dual Processor 800 MHz G4, then it sounds like you are getting DAE Error -6042.

If you have a dual processor G4 and Pro Tools 5.x:
http://www.digidesign.com/compato/pt24g4agp.html

then you should download this fix:
http://www.digidesign.com/download/mp.html
Apple Multiprocessor and G4 PowerBook Expansion Chassis Fix
This download is for anyone wishing to use Pro Tools on:
Multiprocessor Apple G4 computers
Without this download:
Users with multiprocessor systems may experience -6042 errors unless they remove the Multiprocessor folder from their extensions folder, thus disabling the second processor.

You would need this whether or not you were using SCSI drives in the dual G4.

Hi Digi,

I have also the problem with -6042 (PCI bus to slow) and I´m running PTHD3 in a Mac D1Ghz with 1Gb memory and MacOS 9.2.2. It doesn´t say if what I can do.

Best Regards

Digi? Is this a usual problem that PT doesn´t match with the computers? Lucky us when we just were recording music instead of being computerengineers!

CSA,

What SCSI card are you running?
Are you running dual monitors? If so,
do you have a second PCI monitor card installed?
Any other PCI cards in the system?
