Default Wav File / Input levels Super low

Something changed and now my input levels don't match the graphical WAV file Clip view.

So when I record it - the WAV files (graphical view) look as if I MAXED them out and I cannot see graphical distinctions in the wave file. But it sounds fine and the decibel level is around -4 to -7.

If I lower the decibel so it looks like a normal wave file, the decibel (on screen is -30 to -40) and it LOOKS ok - but then the volume is super low.

I can raise and lower the Clip Gain and the volume is completely fine. But I can't view the CLIP sound variations on screen because it looks as though I have MAXED it out.
