Default New here! A few Newbie PT 9 Questions

Hello folks! This is my first post here. I'm a newbie PT user. So please forgive my silly questions. I have looked through the manual and looked at some videos and have been mixing a CD on PT9. I'm loving it. I come from the DP world.

I don't know whether I should separate these questions into different threads, but -- I don't know. That seems like a waste of space. We'll see.

First -- When setting up tracks, can I select a group and set up inputs, busses all at once, rather than individually? In DP I can highlight a group and set inputs outputs to go consecutively or all the same. This would be a time saver. I'm sure it does this. I just don't know how!

Second - Can I set loop points and work with automation in a looping cycle? Right now when I loop and start automation moves the automation stops when it comes back to the top. In DP I could mix sections by loops point cycles.

Also, is there a way to import mixing board from another file or template to a file already opened and working? As in I have a project that shares the same tracks and I/O set ups. I've got the mix perfect on another file, but want to use that as a template to another file I'd already worked on.

Thanks for your help? I hope those questions make sense!

First -- Select the desired tracks, then hold shift+cmd and select your input/output. This will apply to all selected tracks. If you want to apply it to all tracks, press alt.

If you press shift+alt+i you can select the session file you want to import the tracks from, and in the upcoming dialog you can select the tracks, and what parameters should be imported with them (i.e. inserts, automation, regions, etc).

I'll have to try and apply these ideas later. Thanks Meads! But I'm not sure what bleep, bleep, bleep means. Hm. [edit] Must've been edited out. I thought I tried this but I'll try again!

Sorry, I spelled s*h*i*t instead of "shift". That gets bleeped out by the forum software. I corrected it.

Does this apply to inserts/sends or just I/O?
