Default ProTools First Export Semitone Too High

When I export try to export a WAV file of my recording, it exports at a little over a semitone higher than it should sound. I'm recording at 48000 Hz and I have a suspicion that ProTools First may be defaulting to a 41000 Hz project and that this may be causing my issue? Do you think that this could be causing my problem, and if so, are there any plans to fix this and allow users to choose what frequency their project is at? If not, do you have any other ideas as to how I may fix this? I've racked my brain but I can't come up with any solution.
