Default Midi controller - why no sound?

Hi all

I have a new midi controller keyboard which is loaded and recognized in Windows 10 (Alesis Vi61).

I open an instrument track, select Xpand2 plug in, and can get sound using a mouse in the Protools midi editor window....but when I tap my new keyboard I get no sound.

I must be doing something simple wrong and I admit I have no idea about midi.
Very frustrated after hours of tinkering.

Any ideas would be very welcome. .

Well, I don't know what I have done but it seems to be working OK now.
So, problem solved!
