Need Help for Icon D-Command!
Hi all, Im the owner of an Icon D-Command 24 faders and i have some problems with my setup. 1. Can i use external outboard (EQ, Compressors, FX Units, etc) with my D-Command? If yes, how? 2. How i can connect a personal headphone mixer for each musician in my live room from D-Commands cue outputs? 3. Buying a D-Control will solve these problems? Please help me out here! |

Re: Need Help for Icon D-Command!
IMO these are fundamental things that go beyond the scope of this forum. I'd see your dealer and/or hire a professional engineer/technician to help you get these things set up.
Having said that: #1 Yes, they will connect to your interfaces and PT will utilize them as either hardware inserts or Aux Sends. This can be done regardless of the D Command. #2 You'll only use the Cue out of the D Command for part of this setup. Say input 1 and 2 to be used when all you need is a stereo mix and more importantly to get talkback into the Aviom (or whatever you're using) #3 D Control doesn't specifically solve any of these issues over a D Command. |

Hi all, Im the owner of an Icon D-Command 24 faders and i have some problems with my setup. 1. Can i use external outboard (EQ, Compressors, FX Units, etc) with my D-Command? If yes, how? Yes you can. All of your outboard gear should be connected to your HD interfaces (192, 96, etc) and then you can insert them under the I/O inserts just as you would plug ins. 2. How i can connect a personal headphone mixer for each musician in my live room from D-Commands cue outputs? If you are going to use a personal headphone mixing system, you will need to bus send on an interface output each instrument or group of instruments from Pro Tools. You will also want to send one of the Cue outs from X-Mon to the headphone system as well for talkback. You will set the sends to pre fader and probably unity so the talent can set their headphone mix the way they want. Depending on the headphone system, the sends could be either analog or digital. 3. Buying a D-Control will solve these problems? The same instructions apply to both D-Command and D-Control. For more information on how to set up your system, visit ICON All Access and download the tutorial files for D-Command. They should give you some guidance. Gil
