Default recording best configuration

hello,
I'm wondering what are all the factors in creating the most stable crash free config for recording 24 channels at 88.2 khz on a Hd accel 2 system.
Example... turn off delay compensation, allocate the most voices for play back, etc. I won't be using any plugins with this config, just recording
Thanks

I think a pair of recording drives will be critical and I would allocate half the tracks to one drive and the other half to the other drive.

thanks for the reply,

Unfortunitly I only have 1 sata connection as the other one broke.
There are so many options to do with performance there must be a configuration that works best for recording.

It would be great if someone could chime in on there settings for optimizing Protools for recording. I'm not talking about Windows optimization as I have implemented all of those.
I have a 9 song gig soon and I really don't want to have any crashes
Thanks

default settings should work perfectly... if ur system is crashing on a 24 trk recording it has nothing to do with ur settings

I recorded a 3 hour gig and had no issues at all on my system. It was all set at default. So I'd leave it at that
