PT9 M Powered Open?
I've upgraded to Version 9 which is supposed to be an open program. Opens without your interface connected, and will supposedly use any audio drivers. But mine won't. Shuts down if Im not connect to the interface. Does anyone know if I need to re-install or is M Powered PT9 excluded from this option?
Thanks L |

Re: PT9 M Powered Open?
Yes, I would like to know about this too.
Which version of the upgrade did you purchase, or did you install an original MP 9? Specifically, was it the crossgrade from Pro Tools M-Powered to Pro Tools 9? And what type of interface specifically are you trying to use with it, or are you just trying to bring it up without one? |

Re: PT9 M Powered Open?
I'm using an M-Audio fast track ultra.. the upgrade was for registering Pro Tools 8 by a curtain time.
I was under the impression that you could use any sound card. But obviously I haven't had that happen yet. Today when I shut down I removed both the iLok key and the sound card cord form the usb slots and pro tools stayed open with out any alerts. I didn't have time for any experimentation. I doubt that it recognized any windows audio drivers but I was surprised that it stayed open. |

Re: PT9 M Powered Open?
PT9 M-Powered is still tethered to M-Audio devices. That's what makes it M-Powered and why it costs half of what full PT9 does.

Re: PT9 M Powered Open?
Does regular PT-9 support M-Audio interfaces?

Re: PT9 M Powered Open?
More specific:
PT9 supports ASIO compatible audio interfaces. PT M-Powered (and MP9) supports M-Audio audio interfaces. PT LE supports Digidesign entry level audio interfaces (e.g. MBox, 002 and 003). PT HD supports some very expensive out of reach and probably strongly overpriced gear. |
