In my case, I was using a download that had worked without any problems on other machines. I eventually re installed 7.4 and then ran the PT8 Installer. This time it ran fine. Seems to be quite a random problem!

I have the same problem and I have the Pro Tools Le 8 Dealer Upgrade, Rev A. I reinstalled the latest quicktime, too and it keeps asking for it.
What to do now?

I just bought PT M-Powered. Trying to install 8.0.3 and getting the same error.
I can't figure out how to download the latest version install of this? Searching the "avid knowledge base" for "creative collection" gets zero hits?
