Default Waves 7.0 L1+ problems

Hey guys.

I just updated my G5 PPC machine to Waves 7.0 Gold Bundle... everything seems to be ok except my L1+ won't open... it gives me a "DAE Error 7027" in protools

I am running PT 7.3.1cs8. According to Waves website, this configuration is compatible with Waves 7.0

Anyone else had this problem?

thanks,

Henry

Hi,

Just check there are no other waveshells in the plugs folder. only waveshell 7 needs to be in the folder.

There is still 6.06 dae waveshell in the folder... does it not need that for anything? Kinda stupid that it doesn't know how to update itself... :-s

Remove the 6.06 shell. It's in the notes with the Waves upgrade that the v7 doesn't remove v6 shells but you need to do this manually if the shell isn't being used for a different bundle/plugin that you haven't upgraded (which is why it is left verses being removed like v5 shells and down)

Hmmm.... i just removed all 6.06 dae waveshell, and all the other 6.0x files and now when i try and load L1 it comes up with "could not load because DAE is low on memory Error 7053", then comes up with a "Fatal Error" message.

Not a good sign.

No, all you should have done was move the 6.0.6 waveshell from the plugins folder!

Sounds like you have removed the plugin components!

If you remember where you removed those files from and you still have them then put them back!

if you can't remember and you still have those files in your trash then list them here and we'll guide you where to put them

Chris

Ok... you are saying remove the 6.06 Waveshell from the Plugins folder... there are two folders (in the Waves directory):

- Waveshells
- Waves plugins

The 6.06 DAE waveshell is not in the "waves plugins" folder, it is in the "Waveshells" folder. I have removed all 6.0x waveshells from the "Waveshells" folder, and also the Waveslib 6.0x framework files from the "Waves Plugins" folder.

which ones stay and which ones go??!

Thanks for your help BTW

OK, See the problem now.

Put everything back where it was!!

now go to system drive/library/app support/digidesign/plugins folder... remove all waveshells from this folder except waveshell 7.

So we got confused about which plugin folder Basically only the waveshell 7 should be in your pro tools plugin folder.

Was there any waveshells other than 7 in your pro tools plugin folder? if not then the cause is somewhere else.

Chris

Hi,

Use the v7 installer and select single plugin installer for L1+ (i'm guessing there is a single installer for L1+?) if not then you'll have to install the gold bundle again.

First i would go to applications/waves/plugins and remove the L1+ Plugin, so when you install again it is definitely the new installed one you're using.

Check only v7 waveshell is still the only waveshell in the folder.

repair permissions
reboot computer

see what happens!!

Chris
