Installed big Ben last week now iTunes plays everything like a chipmunk on 96i/o

Synced for 48k,big Ben is master 96i/o and rossetta 200 are slaves(wordclock). Any ideas why music is playing so fast like I changed the pitch. Do I have to change clock to 44.1 before playback on iTunes ? Is it a core audio preference?I'm baffled. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP

I'm running itunes 48k no problem.

in the AMS audio setup page there's a pulldown menu for clock source that would have to be correct for your setup also the input format has to be 48k 24bit

been working for me no problem at 44.1 or 48k won't work above 48 with the inbuilt sound card, but if you buy a third party sound card that does above 48k it will work ok. i'm using a tascam firewire card and it works great at all frequencies.

Run iTunes at 44, its native rate - it'll sound better. It's a pain to switch this when jumping between PT and iTunes, but it's worth it.

Hi,

i drop most my own songs into itunes at 48k 24bit and some at 44.1 16 and i can't say i can hear any improvement when playing tracks at 44.1.

The other thing is you have to have itunes at the same frequency as your session if you're piping it in digital and monitoring it via an aux,

As i said i have no problem at 44.1 or 48k with the built in soundcard and when i use my Tascam fw-1804 soundcard i can pipe into PT at 96K which is what i do when mastering.

opened core audio went to preferences changed to 48k and core audio synced to bnc wordclock.ALL IS GREAT and i dont have to switch between 44.1 and 48.THANKS FOR THE HELP GUYS

Commercial CDs and iTunes downloads are 44.1. If you're running iTunes at 48KHz then you're sample rate converting somewhere along the way.

Unavoidable. All iTunes, QT, et al playback is routed through the sample rate converting AU plugin. Even when using the internal clock, the clock doesn't change with the media rate.
