Default Add 192 to HDX system?

Hi -

I have an HDX system PT 11.3.2HD on OS X 10.10. 5. I am going into Pro Tools via MADI through the SSL Delta link. I am wondering if I can put my 192 into the mix to have some analogue I/O.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Danny

Unsupported legacy hardware, but works like a charm.

Yes. If you have a port to plug it in to and the right adapters, you're good to go!

I'm using one here with my HDX and Omni. No issues.

My understanding is that a 192 should work fine until such a time as Microsoft or Apple change something that requires a firmware update. There are also some chips in them that are no longer available as repair parts.

I dont think OS change forces firmware update on 192

I was told that was the only thing that could and it isn't very likely at all. They replaced it largely due to the chips no longer being available.

My experience has been that its main shortcoming compared to the new ones is a loss of LF punch when feeding an unbalanced input. With a balanced input, some people prefer it to the new ones.

Thanks everyone. Now it turns out that, since my card is feeding my SSL DeltaLink for all 64 channels, I will need another HDX card to add the 192. Oh well, at least I know it's possible...
