Default Goodbye to my friend and mentor

Bob Brooks, the long-time owner/operator who managed Little Mountain Sound in Vancouver BC to the pinnacle of the recording industry during what is arguably the greatest era in modern music passed away early this morning.

Bob, I count it all privilege to have been your friend, occasional employee, and tech support for all things Mac and Pro Tools related. I have stories that could be told, but suffice it to say that while I already knew tech stuff, you taught me more than I ever knew I needed to know about people (myself included).

Preceded in death by his first wife Iona. Survived by his son Delwyn, and his second wife Cheryl.

I will miss your calls and video chats, and the times when you just needed help remembering how to print rather than bounce a file.

Fall 2006 Digizine article detailing the first Digidesign Icon install in the Pacific Northwest. I was honored to be Bob's tech director and sometime recording and mixing engineer at Imperative Studios. The Icon was installed by us with the help of Digidesign's Lev Perrey and northwest rep Allan Gauld.
