Default Strike: Part Retrigger

I usually turn off "Part Retrigger" in Strike (Version 1.5), but I need it on for now.
I am triggering patterns with long single MIDI notes, and when it comes to a new MIDI note it retriggers the pattern and makes a strange noise at the start of the pattern. Kind of like an out of phase doubling.
A good way to hear this is to solo a Kick on the 1 and 3 1/4 notes. If I manually play the same pattern I don't hear the strange noise.
I am on PT 9.05, Mac 10.6.8, but I noticed it before on eariler versions.
Could someone that has and knows Strike please try this?

Hello, Russ, anybody.....

I find that playing with the "Feel" knob changes the characteristic of the problem that at this point I would describe as a doubling of the drum (e.g. kick) at the head of each pattern when triggered by a MIDI note. (with part retrigger on)

Can this be reproduced with Pro Tools 9.0.3?

Yes, I believe so. I think it came about in Strike 1.5. It would be nice to get a verification so I know I am not doing something stupid.

If you have Part Retrigger Off set Groove Change Grid to 1/4 Note. Does that solve the kick retriggering sound?

The problem of drum doubling at the head of the pattern only happens when "Part Retrigger" is on, no matter what you do with the other settings.

I notice some old posts from 2008 that seem to be talking about the same thing.

I am setting up my sessions so that I can leave "Part Retrigger" off for now.
