What happened to my Digi 003?
Hi,
I bought a Digi 003 a while back and it worked perfectly with Pro Tools 10 HD in Mavericks. I also used it with Logic Pro 9 and X as a straight forward interface but obviously without the use of the motorised faders etc. Since moving to El Capitan it doesn't work the same. It still functions as an interface but remains completely blank when I add new channels in Pro Tools (as in, before when I added a channel on screen a corresponding motorised fader would activate and light up). In other words, I've lost all function of the 003 bar the actual use of the mic/line inputs. Is anybody familiar with this? I'm assuming it's a compatibility thing with El Capitan but would be great if there was some kind of solution. Also, on a side note, does anyone know if there is a pad for channels 1 to 4 on the 003. I'm aware there's no button but thought there might be an option to turn one on within the digital menu (that I can't currently access!) Thanks in advance! Re: What happened to my Digi 003?
1. Install a new driver for the new OS?
2. Ever hot-swap the cable? Bad idea. |

Re: What happened to my Digi 003?
Thanks for the suggestions! I have the most up to date driver. The most recent on the website says it's compatible with Mac OS X 10.8.5, 10.9.5, 10.10.3. No mention of 10.11 but I read on sweetwater.com (can't find the Avid post):
"Avid has posted compatibility information concerning its software and El Capitan. At this time, the following products from Avid are supported: Pro Tools (as of version 12.3) 003 and 003 Rack Mbox 3 Pro Pro Tools | Quartet and Duet Fast Track Duo and Solo" I've always shut down my laptop before disconnecting the firewire cable |

K, but it's imperative that, in particular, you power down the 003, or hot swapping the cable will probably fry the controller chip.

Re: What happened to my Digi 003?
Are you still on PT10? That is probably your main issue. As Sweetwater said tou need PT12 for ElCap.

Re: What happened to my Digi 003?
I don't think it's a hot swap issue. I always power down laptop, then 003, then disconnect. Still on PT10 so that could be the problem. I'll look into it and let you know how it goes. Thanks guys!
