Default Digi 002 Rack with iBook 800mhz???

A nice depressing story for ya here...
for
Back in March, I bought a nice shiny new 1Ghz fully loaded Powerbook G4 Titanium w/ superdrive for the sole use of using it with the highly anticipated Digi 002 Rack that I recieved last week...All ready to track, I turn on the lovely TiBook and the display is DEAD! After not even after 4 months the %^&*ing thing is dead! 3 Grand thrown down for a notebook, and it's SO dissapointing to have to go through this...Anyway, It's I'm off big to he Apple Store to leave my big investment for warranty repair(who knows how long???).
A quick fix for my current situation is to buy an entry-level iBook 800 loaded to 640MB ram, to use for now, and as a back-up for the ill-fated tiBook...Does anyone have any performance info or track counts, plug-in counts, etc. using an ibook with a Digi 002 Rack, and will it work satisfactory using PT 6.1 on OSX???

I occasionally use my iBook 600 with the 002R. It works but don't overdue the plugs. I have been able to record and edit 12 tracks without plugs. I never tried to figure out how far I could go since this was simply a way for me to keep working while out of town.

hi LesPaul666,

and thank for your question because I have the same to ask..

I've just ordered an iBook 800 with 640 Mg Ram.

I just want to work with it for demo or "little" recording (on internal hard drive) and editing.

Basic use "outdoors" with mBox and sometimes use it on stage with 002 rack.

Anny comments or suggestions ?
