Can't get Pro Tools First to recognize my Akai 4000s

I have an Akai EWI 4000s wind controller connected via MIO to a Windows 10. I can't get a sound from it using XPand2. I had a person here attempting to help me who has experience with Pro Tools, he said that all of my software settings are correct. Any thoughts?
