Default Otpimizing Xpand for EWI 4000s midi controller

The Akai EWI 4000s is both a wind synth and a midi controller. When I play my EWI 4000s straight through an amp using its internal sound bank, it sounds great. However, when I play it through my MBOX2 audio interface and use it to control virtual instruments in Xpand! or Structure (both RTAS plugins), I find the EWI is not as responsive - notes seem to "stick" and it's not possible to play fast runs. Any idea how I can get the same responsiveness playing virtual instruments as I do when playing the EWI alone? I don't have much experience adjusting the settings in Xpand or Structure to respond to breath, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Do you have any stand alone virtual synthesizers that you can test this with?

Also are you using the MIDI input of the MBox?

Keep in mind that the module that you are using is especially 'set' up to take advantage of breath control information etc... from the EWI, so it does not surprise me at all that Structure and Xpand to not perform like your module... you may have to get deeper with assigning controllers to certain parameters at the patch level..

Since you have wind controller, you HAVE to check out the WIVI RTAS Demo.

I'm using the MBox's MIDI I/O. What do you mean about assigning controllers at the patch level?
