Upgrade Card Compatability
IS ANYONE RUNNING AN UPGRADE CARD??!! I am running a Mac/Sawtooth AGP Graphics running at 400 Mhz. While this processor is "technically" supported by the new LE 6.1 software, the fact is it is running soooo sloooooow that it is almost unusuable. I am aware of the new batch of processor upgrade cards for the older Macs (Powerlogix, Sonnet, etc.) that can boost speed to as high as 1.4 Ghz, which would solve a lot of my problems. The problem is that Digidesign has yet to test these processor upgrades for compatability. HAS ANYONE TAKEN THE PLUNGE AND RAN PRO-TOOLS ON AN UPGRADED MAC? As you may know, there can be compatability issues for different chip sets so I would GREATLY appreciate any advice before spending $450 on an upgrade. Thanks.

Re: Upgrade Card Compatability
I've installed an OWC Extreme 1.33 in a G4 (Digital Audio) and PT LE 6.1 seems very happy with it - though I've not had any probs with any other apps either. There seem to be more issues with some of the 1.4x upgrades however. You might want to check the user report database at xlr8yourmac.com for the most recent notes on the various upgrades. It's a great source of info on these.
