Default Record Ready Latency in Carbon DSP mode

Hi,
Allthough I worked for 23 years with TDM/HD/HDX setups, I have yet to fully grasp some situations with Hybrid Engine and now Carbon.

I have recorded guitars through the interface, with an Avid pedal and Eleven inserted on the track, but weird stuff happened : Having engaged the DSP on the relevant tracks (the recorded audio track + a simple Delay and reverb Aux returns) sure enough i had no noticable latency while recording with or without input monitoring BUT
When listening to my take with the Record Ready engaged on the track (with the DSP On) I get a horrible latency. As soon as I record or switch off record ready, this disappears

I have quite a few plugins in the session with a general delay compensation of over 4000

I thought the whole idea of DSP mode was to avoid these problems ?

am I forgetting something ?

Thanks for any light on the subject

the Hybrid engine thing for recording is broken.

It offers more voices/ infrastructure for mixing, but TOTALLY unreliable for tracking.

definitely open a support case.

The only way this gets fixed is if enough people complain.

super sad.

The Hybrid Engine and ADC in general is indeed broken still in 2023.9.

The problem is that it has been over the last 10 years or so. Despite my and colleagues' numerous cases with AVID support (search for my other threads) they have never really cared to bother.

But yes, please keep filing cases. Maybe someone or a studio with more weight could finally get the ball rolling at AVID's side.
