Magma question
To be able to make on location recordings with a laptop, Lynx etc. I managed to get second hand 2 slots Magma chassis. I feel it would not be very good to reinstall the Lynx cards between Magma and PCI desktop slot too often. So the best thing would be to keep them in Magma and to conect it to desktop PC. For that and PCI adapter is needed. Magma makes one for $320. With shipping, insurance etc, it can come to 500, which is quite exorbitant. I wonder whether a simple adapter like that http://www.carry.com.tw/Product/int...?grp=4&subgrp=4
or similar would work too ($30]. I would think it should, because it is the same simple adapter as Magma does ... and the principle is exactly the same ... What do you think ? |
