ASIO drivers in another host application ?

I used to use PTLE, now I work in Samplitude. I still have Digi 002 and want to use for mobile recordings with laptop and Samplitude. I installed the software (PTLE 6.1) and ASIO drivers. I can find Digidesign ASIO drivers 1-8 appearing in Samplitude, but these obviously refer to analog inputs in Digi 002. I am using my own preamp and AD and want to use Digi 002 just as digital input (SPDIF), which works in ProTools but I cannot make it working in Samplitude. WHere is the Digidesign ASIO driver which would refer to SPDIF in/ out ? Thanks for an advice.

the asio driver works for all i/o. i get all i/o in cubase. maybe its a samplitude problem?

In Samplitude, where you choose the "audio card" setup ..
Once the ASIO is selected, look for "advanced" or "more" . That will take you to setup.
Here you'll be able to select the optical port...

Thanks. All the I/Os suddenly appeared there after 2 restarts. It is recording BUT I get about 50 errors within 10 minutes of recording: "Lost ASIO Buffer". What could be the problem ?? Using Laptop Acer Aspire , Pentium Centrino 1,6, 512 MB RAM + Digi 002 Rack.
