Default Pro Tools 9 install

I have an I-7 core processor and 200 GB hard drive. When I go to install it locks my PC up and I get the infamous blue screen. The following error appears: System Thread Exception Not Handled.

There’s a section for outdated software here:
http://duc.avid.com/forumdisplay.php?f=50
That being said, though, you haven’t said anything about your particular OS. Not compatible, perhaps?

Ok I've attempted to simply load the software twice. Both times upon restart, it throws the windows 10 PC into error mode, AKA blue screen. There is no way I will try again without some type of support. Is there anyway to get any kind of help from a programmer at Avid? I can't start a ticket because Its not loaded. I can't complete a phone call because its not loaded. This is a factory disk not a copy. I have the key drive as well. I've never seen a company so completely allusive.

Well that ain't near expected to work is it? As already pointed out: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...tibility-Chart.

Stop wasting time on this ancient well-beyond any support life museum-ware crap. Look at a subscription for current Pro Tools Intro/Artist/Studio and just get going. Or look at any other current DAW, Reaper, Ableton Live, etc. There is no end of great choices out there.

If you are totally new to DAWs just go get free Pro Tools Intro and play with it before committing to Pro Tools. And it's the same actual install as all other versions, you just buy a subscription to turn on more features as Artist/Studio/Ultimate. You can still have problems installing that or any other DAW... and it's especially up to you to check systems requirements before installing.

Read "help us help you" up the top of each DUC web page, read there about systems optimizations (and do them) and basic troubleshooting if you have a problems provide the expected information about your setup including a SiSoft Sandra report.

From the “you really should participate in your own rescue” department, here’s the result for the compatibility with Pro Tools 9, which you could have clicked on, but in any event:

System Software: Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate (32 or 64-bit)
Windows 7 Service Pack 1 is officially qualified with Pro Tools 9.0.2 and higher

“Support” will give you the same answer Darryl just gave you.

Or we could say it another way, you need at least Pro Tools 12.5 for Windows 10.
