TDIF question?
Is the Tascam TDIF connector format, the same as used by the DB-25 type connectors on the back of an 96i/o or 192i/o?
Thanks! -Chris |

Yes its a standard DB25 way D connector. 99% sure tascam and Digi snakes are the same. 25 pin to pin. exactly the same connections both ends. What will you be connecting it to?

Re: TDIF question?
Analog is the same if you have analog cables. Digital will be the same if your connecting TDIF to TDIF. It won't work any other way. The TDIF format is not the same as AES. It has a different pin out from both AES and analog.
Hope this helps |

Re: TDIF question?
Man...
I was hoping I could use a couple of DB-25 to 1/4" balanced snakes I had here at the house with the DM-24's TDIF. But no? TDIF is a different format than analog? |

Re: TDIF question?
Quote:
The Tascam Digital Interface (TDIF) is a proprietary format connector defined by TASCAM that is unbalanced and uses a 25-pin D-sub cable to transmit and/or receive up to eight channels of digital audio between compatible devices. Unlike the ADAT lightpipe connection, TDIF uses a bidirectional connection, meaning that only one cable is required to connect the eight ins and outs of one device or another. |
