Major errors running 2 Focusrite Saffire pro 40s with W7 and PT 10
Having major issues getting this running stable. I keep getting errors that shut down PT,
1 is - ASIO device properties have been changed by the device control panel- and the other is -Problem detected with audio clock. Check that your clock source and sample rate are correct- Both are sporadic. Might happen when opening and hitting play once. Might be able to record for 20 minutes before it happens. Never had either of these errors when running a mbox3 in PT. I have searched multiple forums and cant find a solution. Emailed focusrite but haven't heard back. I found a few threads here on a search but no solutions. Any chance someone here uses these and found a fix? Last edited by c0yle; 10-13-2014 at 08:33 PM. |

Yes, they are each wired into a TI chipset FW card and set in dual mode. According to focusrite it should be supported.....
windows 7 home premium 64 bit Mixcontrol 3.4, unit firmware version 2761 |

Re: Major errors running 2 Focusrite Saffire pro 40s with W7 and PT 10
To be honest - those are the main errors that made me switch to Mac computers
I heard they were fixed by Focusrite but by that time I was Mac. I didn't know dual mode was supported with 2 Pro 40's

But there should be some old posts with that info.
Search for that error code....you will find a very long thread or two about that very error code

Yes I have seen the other threads and nothing in them has worked. A couple seem to end with focusrite reps asking questions though.....

Re: Major errors running 2 Focusrite Saffire pro 40s with W7 and PT 10
Uninstall and reinstall mix control.
You could also setup 1 unit only and see if you can get it working like that. PT10.3.9? Your device manager is not losing connection is it? Have you checked which version of drivers are loading (under the device manager) ?

Re: Major errors running 2 Focusrite Saffire pro 40s with W7 and PT 10
Done that.
no I haven't tried just using 1, but 1 unit is kinda pointless when I need more than 8 inputs. Both saffire drivers show as version 4.1.4.18150 dated 3/12/14 in device manager. I downloaded ASIO4all, it wouldn't see more than 8 inputs fat all, so I left it installed but reverted back to the saffire drivers in PT, changed the buffer to 64 (both were at 128 previously) in mixcontrol and PT. have let it play on loop for about 30 minutes with no error so far. But it has gone as long as an hour or so before so I'll see what happens. Not holding out much hope that that would really do anything. |

Maybe uninstalling AISO will be better for you? It just takes the place of core audio (on mac) you shouldn't need it when running your interfaces. iirc
