Default Loud POP at the end of bounces.

Mac Pro, Native PT 9

Lately, when I bounce something, at the end of the bounce there is a loud POP! and all the fader meters jump up and peak for a second.
This loud pop/crack is actually printed into the bounce.

Tried the usual BS, removing prefs yada yada, no luck.

I called avid, no luck-- anybody else experience this?

Did you do a fadeout with the masterfader ?
And you have LoopPlay activated ?

If so, the playhead jumps back to start at the end of bouncing and the masterfader jumps back to 0. That causes a noise that for some reason is included in the bounce.

Do a FadeIn right at the beginning of the song...

Wow.
Yes, it is on fade outs-- huh, that never occurred to me.
I'll try unchecking loop playback before bounce. Thanks!

I read on another thread to make the master volume inf at the start of bounce--I did that and it got rid of the pop. But honestly, thats pretty silly. I'd like to know why it does this.

Just throwing in a idea to try - don't know if it will be helpful. Does having a pre and post roll on help with the issue?

I had this problem lately and that pop is coming from the master fader for some reason ....the problem is the is not always happening , sometimes my bounce is clean ,so when I got the pop what I do is not to fade out the master fader but I do fade out the 2 track or all the tracks depending of the session ..this way I am no getting this pop anymore...I hope this help everyone

I think it was a ProbTools 9 bug for me as 10 has never done it. Try turning on delay compensation set to short or long and see if that solves it, there was another thread about this a year ago and for some reason the delay compensation did the trick.

I've had this happen off and on. Its simple to open the file(I use Wavelab but it can be done in PT as well) and just trim off the spike, and save. In fact, many times, I will bounce without a fade and add the fade in Wavelab. If you try to do everything inside the session, consider an update to your work flow. I bounce at the session's sample rate and bit depth. Then I open the file in Wavelab(Wavelab has an "Essentials" version for under $100, and version 7 works on Mac). In WL, its easy to see and edit the head and tail, add a fade if needed, and save in this neatly finished file, ready for the mastering. If you intend to do your own mastering, WL is a great program to do it with, with much faster processing(no real-time bounce) and better analysis tools. Food for thought
