2020.11.0 extremely slow with external monitors

I'm using maxed out 2019 MacBook Pro 16" with 2 HDX cards in TB3 chassis, and two external 4k monitors. (OS X 10.15.4)

When working with large projects, everything is super smooth if I only use the internal Mac book pro monitor.

But when I have 4k monitors connected, protools gets su.... per..... sl...... uggish. More stuff I have on screen, the slower it gets.

I am running protools in low resolution mode, but it doesn't seem to help at all.

Does anyone know if there are any work arounds? Configurations that do work? Anyone using external 4k monitors with any Mac setup and not experiencing any sluggishness on Pro tools GUI?

same problem here. No 4k. just 3 1080 monitors. 2020.11 and .12 makes my projects unusable... (really big sessions, 10 5.1 chapters in a project....) previous versions to .11 worked nice!! problems come with dark mode version....

Can you check the activity monitor -> gpu history?
Protools can be a drain on the gpu. I've seen this since PT 11, we needed to upgrade all our Mac pro gpu's to work on dual screens.

Interesting As per system in sig line below ..... I am running PT Ultimate 2020.12 on Catalina 10.15.7 ....I have a new 5k iMac and an older Mid 2010 27 inch Apple Cinema Display (1080) . (So only one additional display) I can actually have PT and Studio One both up and running at the same time, with multiple plugin GUI's open and switch back and forth running dark mode and no issues I can detect at all ????????
