Default Good screen capture software that won't mess with Pro Tools.

Does anyone use screen capture software on their audio machine (PC)?

I'd like to do some tutorial videos without having to point my camcorder at my screen. But I also don't want to install some bloatware/junkware that's going to muck up my Pro Tools work station.

Any recommendations?

Camtasia Studio 6 is the "industry standard" for PC I've used it with Pro Tools. Amazing stuff.
Try it for 30 days for free. Full program.

Just hit control and print screen (top right on your keyboard). This will screenshot to your clipboard. Then open Paint or Photoshop Or whatever art package you use, create a new blank document and hit control V. Voila painless screen capture!

One very useful variation - ALT-Print Screen captures only the active window instead of the whole screen. That can save a lot of image editing if you only want to capture a dialog pop-up, for instance.

The original poster is looking for screen capture software not screen shot software.

If memory serves me, This program worked well for me. You could crop an area on your screen immediately rather than record the entire thing.
