All kinds of random problems here, but may be because I jumped the gun and (delta) updated the system using App Store instead of performing a clean install.

I have been trying different disc cache settings. Right now I have it at 3 gigs and it still gives me the alert. Might just go back to El Crapitan and see if that fixes it.

Mid 2012 15" MacBookPro10,1 4-Core i7 'Ivy Bridge' 2.6 GHz qualified by Avid.
Presonus 192
Presonus Digimax DP88
Profire 2626

24 simultaneous inputs.
Using monitor switching and headphone amps.

12.7
Latest Sierra.

ZERO issues with performance, and I mean ZERO.

Not sure what all the fuss is about Midi because I only use Superior Drummer 2 for Midi and no issues with that either.

Thanks for all of the feedback everyone. I decided to stay on 10.11.6 and it's been relatively stable. I was getting an error related to memory and DAE not responding but I adjusted the buffer size to 512 and cache size to normal and it went away.

Since the app store is only allowing a 10.12.3 download I'm going to stay put.

OK, I finally got PT to stop with the CPU and out of Memory alerts! I deleted the PT preferences, and that seemed to fix my problem. There were probably some files that were not happy with the update, so building a new preference file did the trick.

I'm getting them on a clean install. I just got that message on a session I'm mixing. I checked the activity monitor and this session was using around 6gigs. My disk cache is set to 2gigs. I reopened Pro Tools and now the same session is using 3gigs. There's no VIs in this session, just audio. I have never had this happen in PT12 until in the last month or so. Also I'm still on 12.5.1, only responding here because you're seeing the same issue.

Maybe try deleting the Pro Tools Prefs anyway. Can't hurt anything except having to go through and set some preferences again. Let it rebuild when you open Pro Tools and see if it makes any difference. It took care of all my issues.

My memory issue seems to be related to melodyne editor. I've been working with the activity monitor open to try to see what was causing it, and I don't have any issues unless I'm transferring to the melodyne plugin. If I reboot Pro Tools after the melodyne transfer, the memory will go back down and it stays down. It's still odd that it just started happening on 2 systems, one that I just did a clean install on last weekend. On the other system, nothing has changed since summer, and I've never seen this issue until the last few weeks or so.
