Question about older G5 / PCI vs PCIe...any info?
Hey all...I know this has probably been discussed before time and tiem again....but I suck at searching so if anyone can either answer me questions or point me to a link...that'd be great. Note that I did try searching first...
I am wondering if an older G5 (the 1.8 ghz) model is supported by digi. I'm buying a computer to go HD (currently on LE with laptop) sooo I want to make sure. It uses PCI slots... My second question - what is the difference between PCI and PCIe slots? would I be better off searching for a G5 with PCIe? (noticeably better?) is it the same? worse? opinions? I really have no idea what the difference is (except you seem to need the "accel" card for PCIe as opposed to regular HD on PCI). Thanks any info is greatly appreciated. |
