Default Can\'t burn to CD after \"bounce to disk\"

Basically, I'm a first time user of Pro Tools. I have the 5.3.1 version. I keep getting a error message on my Roxio CD burner program everytime I try to burn to CD a short demo I created on Pro Tools. When I bounced the tracks to disk, the settings were for "stereo interleaved", 24 bit and 44.1khz. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Are you burning the cd so you can listen to it in a player? Then you need add a dither plugin and BTD at 16bit/44. I'm not familiar with Roxio.

just to help finish dodo's sentence... you need to add a dither plugin "to your master fader"... then bounce to disk...

Stereo Interleaved
16 bit (this is what allows you to burn to cd)... CD quality audio is 16 bit.

And to ward off future questions... dither adds miniscule noise to the track and makes it sound more natural when converting from 24bit to 16bit... basically, it'll tie your mix together better during the conversion. Good luck

Hey Doylemusic,
Your suggestion of doing it again using 16-bit was right on the money. Thanks a lot. I just might end up using Pro Tools after all - I've only had it 3 years!!

Glad to help. We've all been there. Now that you got it burned, check out Dodo and Millicents posts as they are right on the money. I just wanted to get you burning....
