Default M-Box for laptops. Recommended laptops?

Does anybody recomend a certain brand and model of laptop for use with the M-Box. I was about to purchase a Dell inspiron 8200 when I caught that it was not compatible on the "Known Incompatibilities" section of the digidesign site. Can anyone recomend a brand and model that they've had success with? Thanks.

This is a popular topic lately. A search would have led you to at least these two threads:

laptops and MBOX - recommendations

Mbox Notebook Performance Database?

Good luck on your search.

hey all..im still in the deep sea of laptop purchase with m-box. i have been to both of the above links and nothing seems to be very convincing. at the mo i am getting a little put off the new G4 powerbooks..hmmmm and the Toshiba Satelite TE2100 P4 2ghz with IBM HD, which was recommended by a company who deals with laptops for protools is sounding pretty good. Other option was the Sony Vio but there hasnt been that many good raves about that either..any more help or suggestions would be grand!! cheers

I use an iBook with my Mbox and it's always worked great. You can buy one for under $1000.
