Default USB Ports Disable Upon PTMP9 Launch

Hello all.
I'm new here but have been a PT user for some time.
Yesterday I bought a MacMini from BestBuy and installed my disc of PTMP9 on it. I had been using it on Windows 8 without any irregular issues, other than load up was slower on Win 8 than 7. Upon launching MP9 I'll get to the screen where it asks me to set up the session (from a template, etc.) After I save the file name all the sudden the USB devices seem to go down! The PT Session Window will pop up ready for me to record, but I can't. My mouse and keyboard are unresponsive, even the green light on my iLok key just goes off. I have to do a hard restart of the Mac to regain control of the computer. I've only been able to successfully start a couple of sessions where it didn't shut down the USB side of things, and that's it. I haven't noticed any issue with any other programs doing this.

Any idea what might be causing this?

I have the OS X 10.8.3, 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

I currently have 9.0.5, about to try 9.0.6.

Thanks!

I don't think there was a Pro Tools MP 9.0.6 update. There was a standard Pro Tools 9.0.6.

I hope you do realize MP 9.0.5 is not qualified on Mountain Lion.

Agreed. I would suggest rolling the Mini back to Lion 10.7.x and reinstall PT.

I am running MP9 with similar machine specs on OSX 10.7 with no issues.

The new Mini needs at least 10.7.x (can't go back to Snow Leopard) in order for the Thunderbolt to operate - assuming you want your monitor to work .
