Digi 001 Replace soundcard question?? Thanks
Can you use the Digi 001 to replace a soundcard? Typically, I want to at least use acid (sonic) and have it in/out the 001.
Is this possible? Please advise... thanks, frankii |

Re: Digi 001 Replace soundcard question?? Thanks
Sure you can, but... Digidesign is not good in writing windows drivers. Digi001 wavedriver is very poor driver, it is not even DirectX, compatible. Apps can see it as "emulated". It simply means that using it equals big latency and problems with all modern apps using DirectX technology.
O.K. mayby DX is not good enough for Digidesign. Steinberg invented their own standart (ASIO), Nemesys their own (GSIF) so what bother about? I just disabled wavedriver from device manager and still doing experiments whith adding DX platform on different card.
