Default PT Crash Urgent

Hi Guys,

It seems that every time I close PT it crashes. It reads:

"Segmentation Fault" in the thread. "MainThread", at address 0xbfff02c0

I've dumped all my DigiDatabses but it keeps coming back.

The closet thing I found in the "search" was being related to ReWire plug-ins but I don't have any open in these sessions.

Any help?

All the best,

Mitch

I'm working with PT 7.3cs3 on a Mac G5 2.0 5 GB Ram

If you don't need the rewire plugin then move it to the Unused folder.

It gave us a whole heap of problems just by being the in Plug-Ins folder

Thanks

Not good because I'm sometimes working with sessions with Source Connect which uses ReWire.
So your saying even if that actual plug-in isn't even being used in the session it still causes problems???

All the best
Mitch

Yeah, don't use rewire on a regular basis (occasional SourceConnect use on one system) Even having the plugin in the folder causes problems like you are describing occasionally.

Check that the version you have is up to date though. I just removed the plugin on our clone disc which has helped but I'll have to reinstall it soon as we are switching to SoundMiner.

I just went through this, although I got no error messages. Do a disk utility on your start up drive. Mine was fried in spots and couldn't be repaired. I had to get a new startup drive and reinstall everything. Not fun. Type in "computer crashes" in Search The DUC" and read through my thread from a few days ago. Folks had some good suggestions...might help you.
