Default Coalesce fades to volume automation

Can anyone else see this as being a handy feature?

Sure, one can re-consolidate but why create a new file?

Coalesce or convert? I'm assuming you mean like "convert clip gain to automation"

For me, they have two distinct uses: fades/crossfades for editing and automation for mixing. But I can imagine other workflows. You'd just have to separate the crossfade paradigm (two fades working together) which I don't think will ever happen.

Same thing here. I often though get sessions from other people that have relied on fades instead of automation. I would like to either convert or coalesce.

It happened to me twice that I was reeeaaaallly up against it, I had to do revisions in a laptop (short form content, could not be in the studio because I was in pain due to a back sprain), music stems in their uptenth re-iteration. I found myself using fades instead of automation in some instances.

I had to send PT Sessions and AAFs and thus this query was formed.

I can't see myself using such feature.
