HDx card has multiple RED Leds blinking?

Hi All,

7 flashing Red LEDs on my HDx when a session is loaded with DSP plugs?

I got the "Broken Fans AAE -1178 error" message earlier this week on my Mac Pro 5,1 machine.

I have ordered a new fan from Advanced Musical Electronics, set to arrive on Friday.

In the meantime I am not running Pro Tools and have installed Macs Fan Control and speed up all of my Mac Pros fans.

I ran Digitest and my card passed.

However, when I open a recent Pro Tools session, I see Red LEDs flashing in about 6 or 7 places under the HDx cards metal cover? Is this normal?

I usually have my Mac Pro closed up as I only opened it after I got the "AAE -1178 error".

If I close the session, all Red LEDs turn off except the one near the front of the HDx card next to the "normal pulsing Green LED."

Has anyone been down this road? Any clues what I'm in for? Will replacing the fan solve this issue?

I am on 2018.12 HD Ultimate with an active support plan.

Hi, I don't know for sure, but also my hdx has a lot of red leds flashing and it seems that it is relative to how many dsp you are using at that moment. I tested a session with full hdx load and the card was like a Christmas tree. I have not found any certain information, however, searching the internet

Have you tried running Digitest?

The question was more directed at iljunegate, as the original post is over a year old. If a card passes digitest I wouldn't be too concerned with what the LEDs are doing.
