Help with a disaster please [solved]
I am not a professional. I purchased a MacbookPro in 2010 with ProTools 8 and an Mbox2. I only used the computer for ProTools, as I have a PC for everything else.
I never updated anything on it, but this week I decided at the urging of a friend, to update to the latest OS, as I was still using Snow Leopard. I had to install El capitan first, then move on to High sierra. Sure enough, it does not support PT8, rendering PT unusable. After frantically researching what to do, I decided to wipe the hard drive clean and reinstall Snow Leopard, which I did. Now I just needed to reinstall PT8. Unfortunately, the dvd is scratched and will not load. I am now without PT. I understand that I should probably upgrade the OS and get PT12, but I really don't have the money for that right now. Is there a way I could purchase a dvd of PT8 from Avid and then return things to the way they were? Thank you.

Install 8.0.3 and then update to 8.0.5. Before you update though, you'll need to run 8.0.3 and put in your authorization code.
