When you say blink out, what do you mean specifically? My edit back has been acting up a lot recently. All of the LED buttons will light up randomly and continously blink on and off. From time to time when I would lose sync with ProTools, I would reset the ethernet controllers and cycle the power on the units. This would solve the problem.

I'm seeing other threads, talking about either swapping out the power supply, replacing the filter caps on it, or just resoldering the connections on it. Mine has intermittently started blinking LED's, random text characters on the displays, dim LED's and all fingers are pointing to the power supply. Would love to know if anyone has a "how to" with photos of cracking open the ProControl.

When these symptoms happened to me it was the Power Supply capacitors. I found an excellent tech here in Los Angeles called Greg Granieri, who fixed it for me. His email is [email protected]

I believe he used to work at Digidesign.

Since he fixed it several years ago I have had no problems with it at all.

I concur with the above post's I had the same exact problem with my Fader Pak and it was the solder connections to the header pins. Took me all of 20 mins or so, the majority was taking the PC apart enough to remove the power supply PCB. I am not saying that your issue is exactly the bad solder joints but its well worth checking (look closely if you do not see a solid solder joint it is suspect to cause an issue when it warms up) Otherwise having a new Power supply is easy enough to replace. I would keep the old one and rebuild it if possible for a spare.

Good Luck!
