Hey Nucelar,
I'm looking for some more info on building a replacement power supply for the command 8 as well. Can you point me towards a schematic or give a little more details.
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Bob

Thanks Nucelar,

Im live in japan. and sorry not good at Engllish.
But i want to say thank you very very much for Nucelar’s post.

Recentrly I got Digidesign Command 8 by Auction.
but power supply has not included.

So I was looking for some information about Command 8 Power Supply issue.
Thanks for Nucelar, I bought this trans.

Troidal tansformer,Primary:115 V ac, 230 V ac, Secondary:2 x 12V ac, 50VA
http://jp.rs-online.com/web/p/toroid...rmers/6719090/

So I soldered this
Brown& Green, Blue&Violet.
This two wire is for 100v AC (in japan)
If your country is 240v , this wiring must be changed.

Command 8’s power plug is 3Pin. 2 is center pin.
1=Red wire
2=Black&Yellow wire
3=Orange wire

Command 8 is starting up perfectly!
then Connect to Mac by USB.
and boot Protools 10.
Setteing by peripheral control.

Hope this can help someone!

given the vintage of the Command 8(same era as the 002 and the Control 24), I would suspect bad connections inside at a Molex connector(002 and Control 24 are notorious for this kind of issue). If it were me, I would open the unit and look for any Molex connectors(white-ish nylon blocks) and see if they unplug. If they do, then I would unplug and replug 5-6 times on every Molex you can get at. Then close it up and test(with fingers crossed)
