Default Pro Tools 11 audio interface?

Hi - I'm currently using MBox2 (since 2007). It's all good, but I'm concerned about it being superceded/nort supported after September 2015. I'm looking at the UAD Apollo Twin Solo (or Duo) vs the Avid/Apogee Duo. Any thoughts on best compatibility for PT 11 (and soon PT 12 I guess...)?

Thanks, bb

Everyone I've talked to says the Apollo has the best converters on the market, and that I'd hear a DRAMATIC difference if I used an Apollo in place of my 003 Console. If you're on Windows, you'll have to use FW 800 instead of Thunderbolt, but that hasn't caused any problems that I'm aware of. One vote for Apollo, and it's at the top of my GAS list. Did you hear a dramatic difference?

Since it's still at the top of my acquisition list, no. This is coming from a variety of sources that I trust a LOT. Even mix-master Mick Guzaski (sic?) says the Apollo converters are about the "sweetest converters he's ever heard." But I don't have both here for an A/B comparison.

Apollo is fine. I'd also take a look at the Focusrite interfaces.

Focusrite also provides excellent support. For free.

I think I should go for Thunderbolt rather than USB...

Apollo twin is nice, no doubt about that. Form factor is probably doable for a travel box, too. Only problem is lack of bus power.

As long as you're on a MAC. (Didn't say) Last time I checked, there wasn't a TB card for a PC. And if you go APOLLO, it's either TB or FW 800, and they'd like you to use the FW card they recommend.
Although, i DID just find THIS:

Kinda hacky, though. Requires looping back a displayport cable outside the case. I'm not a fan of that design.
