Can I run HDX2 with two video cards in my Mac Pro?
I have the newest Mid 2010 Mac Pro. Fully loaded with dual 2.93 ghz processors totaling to 12 cores. I've got 16 gigs of RAM, an SSD, a blu-ray burner, and two ATI Radeon 5770 HD cards. This thing is a monster. From looking inside the tower, I believe I see what is one free PCI slot. My questions:
- The 5770's are fat cards. Will I have enough clearance for even ONE HDX card, let alone two? - Aren't there different types of PCI slots in Mac Pro's? PCIx and PCIe? How many do I have of each? How many are in use by the video cards and how many are remaining for the HDX cards? Thanks! Looking forward to the upgrade from PT10 to PT10 HDX. |
