Re: Getting ready for mac
Just bought a Mac G4 933 w/ 768 RAM. Loving it to death. Very Zippy. You'll probably need a separate drive to store your audio files, though. You shouldn't really keep them on the startup drive. The higher the RPM on the additional drive, the better. I just picked up an 80 Gig w/7200RPM. Works like a charm. Hope this helps -
Mark

Re: Getting ready for mac
Duane,
You should consider waiting until after July if you can,the Macs will go down in price, sometimes way down. Also some models may be discontinued completely... Ray |

Re: Getting ready for mac
IS THE STOCK OPERATING SYSTEM THAT COMES WITH THE 933QUICKSILVER COMPATIBLE WITH PRO TOOLS? I'VE HEARD THE PRO TOOLS LE WILL NOT RUN SMOOTHLY WITH CERTAIN OPERATING SYSTEMS. THE THING I REALLY LIKE ABOUT THE MACS IS THAT YOU CAN ADD A SECOND HARD DRIVE TO STORE ALL YOUR FILES(MUSIC) ON!

Re: Getting ready for mac
You have to use 9.x. You can not use OSX with PTLE yet. You will just have to setup both os on two different partitions and you will be fine.
Second, all computers PC and mac will allow you to use an additional hard drive for audio storage. Quote:

Re: Getting ready for mac
Hey Duane
First, as a matter of polite posting, please refrain from using ALL CAPS . It means that you are shouting and it is harder to read. To answer your question. Macs are now shipped with OSX as the default operating sytem . In the system control panel you can change this default to Mac OS9. The Digi001 and PTLE aren't supported in OS X yet, and will not work in Classic Mode (Opening a session in Classic mode can corrupt it as well, Ouch!) Search the "PTLE for Mac forum" and you'll get lots of advise on how to configure your Mac properly for PTLE. Good luck the 'slide
