Bounce to disk (aiff) creates multiple files
Recently when I'm trying to Bounce to Disk in interleaved stereo aiff format, the result is my aiff with appropriate name as well as another aiff (slightly smaller in size) with a weird encryped name like "8vSoaHTZ6Rk". I haven't changed any of my preferences or settings. I'm using TDM v6.1 on Mac OS X v10.2.8.
Thanks for any help!! |

I don't have DigiTranslator, so that isn't even an option for me.
Any other thoughts? thanks. |

Re: Bounce to disk (aiff) creates multiple files
When Pro Tools bounces to disk and "Convert After Bounce" is selected, an intermediate bounce file is created at 24-bit regardless of the final bit-depth and file type destination of the bounce. In a multichannel (stereo, 5.1, etc.) bounce, the intermediate files are multiple mono.
Now the problem you have is that the intermediate/temp files are supposed to be automatically deleted after completion of the task. I would suspect this is an OS issue more than a PT issue. It may very well be a conflict of both. MAKE SURE that the version of OS and PT are the latest that are compatible. I would make sure that you have a minimum of Pro Tools TDM 6.4.1cs3 on Mac OS X 10.3.8

Re: Bounce to disk (aiff) creates multiple files
This might be silly, but I've noticed that it takes OSX a day and a half to update the finder. Could it be possible that it actually is deleting it, but is taking a long time (or not) updating your finder view? Try closing and opening the folder and see if it's actually still there. Kinda silly, I know...
